I feel like these cars don’t get the recognition or praise that they deserve. Everyone always sings the praises of the AW11 or AE86, which is fine because that leaves more FX16’s for me. Finding a good one that hasn’t been bitten by the rust monster is getting harder and harder though. I’ll own another one someday, but until then...

These are pretty neat little hatches, definitely a good GTI alternative.

I had a friend who had a few of these back home. I love them too. Fun little whips, and TFritch nailed it - a good GTI alternative too

I can’t wait to be able to import an AE111 BZ-R. Why? Because ITB’s.

Nothing to confess really, these are very good with great mod potential. I’ve seen a 4agze one before with some kind of a (i think) ae92 front clip and even the hood. It was neat.

can always import the drivetrain and put it in one of these, would be a riot.

The 4AGZE is a common swap as is the 4AG 20V. If/when I ever get to do another one it’ll be 20V with ITB’s.

Fairly common swap is the 20V black or silvertop out of the AE111.

Don’t forget Toyota Starlets!

Starlets are cool, no doubt. IDK, for me though I prefer the AE82, something about the lines on the Starlet are just to cut off, the proportions seem a little off.

I am about to go in $13,000 to fully restore and mod an Fx16. I will have it all done in about 5-6 weeks. I will post pictures as we progress every week.

I can't wait to see the pictures of the build. What do you have planned?
